Corners with dirty paint or peeled of plaster? Walls with chipped edges? Sounds bad? Actually ... sound familiar?

How often did this happen to you?

All this is a consequence of accidental hits, with the “help” of the vacuum clear, at a simple move of a chair or even when removing traces of Christmas (including the traditional Christmas tree). Unfortunately, these hits are inevitable in any inhabited house, especially when kids make their presence known. For example, leaving aside the eventual dispute regarding the utility or “harm doing” of the baby walker, most mommies or grandmothers had the opportunity to see live, at least once, how the baby walker skilfully driven by the frisky baby, assaulted the edges of the walls (see photo). This is a particular case, probably you can easily remember other examples.

With walls finished with washable paint, the damage would need more than one operation in order to correctly recondition them (including plastering and reapplying the washable paint).

And for being sure there will not be a difference between the fresh applied paint and the rest of the wall, you should repaint the whole wall…. Things become even more complicated if the walls are finished with wallpaper or PVC panels, for reconditioning these you would need 1-2 rolls of wallpaper or panels.

But for all these simpler solutions can be found. One of the solutions by which you can save time and money is using PVC wall corners protection profiles.

PVC wall corners protection profiles can be installed as a final finishing method for the corners, as a decorative role, for hiding eventual wall imperfections, as well as for protection purposes, especially in case of exterior corners.

These profiles are recommended for finishing exterior and interior corners of walls decorated with wallpaper because:
      - protects and hide the joints between several rolls of wallpaper, preventing edges peeling
      - they are especially useful with joints between walls  decorated with different patterns and textures, creating a smooth transition among them

Another option is to further install the profiles (after a few months or even years) in order to conceal the possible consequences of accidents previously described.

Installing the profiles is easy, so is their replacement, and the entire process will last no more than 30 minutes, even if you won’t call a professional.

      - You can easily remove the damaged corner profile

      - Clean the wall of eventual adhesive traces left after the damaged profile

      - Install another profile by gluing it with universal silicone

      - For a good adhesion to the wall it is recommended after the glue is applied, supplementary add adhesive tape for 24 hours

Subsequent maintenance is easily accomplished by wiping with a cloth moisten in water or detergent and water solution.

Tips: For seamless integration of the corner profile in the interior design of the room, it is preferable to cover it with colored washable paint according to color palette used for walls. However, depending on the manufacturer, it is possible that the surface of the profile to not allow proper adhesion of washable paint. The solution is simple: before installation, just reprocess the profile surface with very fine sandpaper, thus obtaining a texture to which colored washable paint will have a good grip.
