Interior Design: What happens if you let children play with thousands of colored sticker dots?

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama found the answer to this question.

She began by creating a giant easel on whicha huge white canvas is placed. She achieved this in the Museum of Modern Art in Brisbane: she arranged a gallery as a common australian home, which is painted all white, both walls and furniture.

All she had to do was to give a free hand to the youngest visitors of the museum. The unleashed spontaneity and imagination of the small amateur artists created a refreshing spectacular and highly original work of art.

But interactivity was not only allowed to children, thus thousands of adult visitors have found their inner child and played with thousands of colored sticker dots.

We don’t know how much effort was involved to achieve this, but it’s clear that everyone enjoyed themselves while participating to this interactive artwork. Or... redecoration? Or ... even game?!

Sounds exciting? „If you are lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change!”

It’s true that you already thought about a room that should be cheered up in this way?

Will you decorate only some items or the entire room?
